Aretha Franklin's Headwear!

Red Hat Woman!

This past week I turned on my television to witness President elect Barack Obama be sworn in as the 44th president of the United States of America. It was a proud day to be an American as we witnessed history being created before our eyes.

Engaged in the the events that surrounded President Obamas inauguration speech, Ms. Aretha Franklin caught my attention with her powerful voice and elaborate headwear.

As a hat connoisseur, and advocate of elaborate headwear, I became instantly intrigued. This hometown hit singer engaged the crowd and televised talk shows with the topic of her hat more than her singing. And with a hat that fabulous, how could we not be talking about it?

Like the the motown singer, Designer Luke Song is also from Detroit, Michigan. His local family business received an overwhelming amount of attention and orders during the week of the inauguration.

Before the soulful singer finished her version of "My Country, 'Tis of Thee," phones at Mr. Song Millinery began ringing. By Wednesday afternoon, Mr. Song had sold hundreds of this one of a kind hat.

An oversized bow took control of the dove-gray chapeau that sat atop Aretha Franklins head. Trimmed with elegant Swarovski crystals, the detail was complimented by its unique design to create a piece of headwear that was truly show-stopping.

I wonder if Mr. Song has plans of making one in red. We can hope ladies!

Until Next Time,
